CRN commends AHPA for proactive efforts

CRN endorses AHPA's Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for Botanical Material

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) issued the following statement regarding the release of the American Herbal Products Association's (AHPA) guidelines on Good Agricultural and Collection Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices for Botanical Material.

AHPA encourages EPA to reform pesticide regulations

Vast majority of herbal crops are specialty or minor crops so they are seldom the subject of attempts by pesticide chemical producers to establish a pesticide tolerance

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) submitted comments yesterday encouraging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reform current regulations to maintain protections for consumers and the environment and reduce burdens on food companies that use specialty or minor crops such as herbs and spices in their products.

The American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) has formally endorsed the Botanical Sciences and Native Plant Materials Research, Restoration, and Promotion Act (H.R. 1054) and will be advocating for the bill's passage in the U.S. Congress.
