AHPA’s 40 Herbs We Love – No. 3: Japanese Pagoda Tree (with love from Indena)
No. 3: Japanese Pagoda Tree (Sophora Japonica L.)
The Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica L.) or Styphnolobium japonicum (L.) Schott is mainly cultivated as an ornamental plant in many parts of the world. Its beautiful flower buds are a pleasant creamy white or slightly yellow color and are very rich in flavonoids.
In recent years, many important biological activities of quercetin — the queen of flavonoids — have been discovered and interest in its benefits on human health has rapidly grown. Thanks to a unique Phytosome formulation by Indena, Quercefit®— a quercetin extract derived from flower buds of Sophora japonica L. — is up to 20-fold more bioavailable than unformulated quercetin and is in line with the levels of a diet rich in vegetables and fruits.
Quercefit® maximizes benefits of traditional quercetin in immune and respiratory health, such as its remarkable antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antiviral activities.
Meet the botanical keeper of your daily immunity health and build resilience for healthy living!
